Berlin, Berlin. Great city. We went on a free Berlin Tour which I would highly recommend. I would have to say, out of all the cities I've visited, Berlin was the most interesting historically. The first day, I did a walking tour, and I took in Brandenburg Gate, The Reichstag, Hitler’s underground bunker, Berlin's new Holocaust Memorial,  Potsdamer Platz, The Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, Museum Island,  and the former SS Headquarters.

The next day I enjoyed the tour so much that I decided to do another tour, this time one on the rise and fall of Third Reich Berlin. We walked around the city and learned about how it happened. All about how the world lay sleeping while the Nazi's built their war machine and solidified power, about the sick genius of Goebbel's Propaganda Ministry to Himmler's SS and the secret state police (the Gestapo), and Goering's elite Air Force, and Hitler's master plan. We went to the Nazi Air Force Headquarters, the SS and Gestapo headquarters, the Soviet Memorial, and the Topography of Terror.

My sister Maura in front of Brandenburg Gate. The Brandenburg Gate is a triumphal arch and is the symbol of Berlin.

Thank God the Americans came in to help the British and win the war.

Checkpoint Charlie. I can just hear the National Anthem of my homeland..... Look at that beautiful flag!
